Highlights

The Dräger CFH 5000 gas-operated fire simulation system in a compact and robust container design offers a safe and versatile training opportunity for firefighting on several floors as well as for the correct operational tactics for search and rescue exercises in smoke-filled interior spaces. For maritime and industrial applications special training elements can be integrated into the fire training system.

Interior firefighting across multiple floors

The container-based Dräger CFH 5000 fire training unit is a multi-storey facility that enables challenging firefighting and rescue training in a structure featuring wraparound platforms and both internal and external stairways. In addition to firefighting itself, the unit includes numerous other training scenarios essential for fire services during interior operations. The modular design using standard containers eliminates the need for complex conventional concrete construction and enables highly realistic training in simulated residential or industrial environments.

The Dräger CFH 5000 is equipped with multiple fireplaces, an entry door for breaching and forcible entry drills, as well as flexible internal walls, allowing the entire operation – from hose management to accessing the hazard zone under challenging conditions – to be practised within a single facility. It also features various windows that can be used in ladder and ventilation exercises. One of the fireplaces is mobile and can be used with various props both indoors and outdoors, as well as for fire extinguisher training.

Realistic fire simulation

With its wide range of scenarios, the Dräger CFH 5000 provides realistic training conditions for interior firefighting across multiple levels. The unit is operated via wireless remote control. Each fireplace is ignited separately or in combination with other components. The flame intensity can be adjusted to three different levels. The trainer or a fully automatic system can control how the fire spreads and its intensity (flame height). The automatic system also monitors if the fire has been successfully extinguished. The stainless steel fireplaces create a very realistic flame effect and have a long lifespan due to the cooling effect of the water inside them. A sound system allows typical operational noises to be played and instructions to be announced.

Full control for added safety

A fully automated control system ensures the highest possible level of training safety. This includes controlled operation with propane. In an emergency, the gas supply is immediately cut off using an emergency stop button in the fire training room or on the remote control. Thermal imaging cameras in the fire training rooms allow continuous monitoring of training scenarios. This allows fire scenarios to be simulated realistically with maximum safety.

Optional equipment

In addition to simulating indoor fire training scenarios, a range of expansion options is available for the Dräger CFH 5000.

  • Fully automated operation with extinguishing success control.
  • Special building training elements such as a solar panel or a radiator mock-up for search exercises using a thermal imaging camera
  • Maritime or industrial training elements such as engine and flange fires, ship doors and access hatches
  • Outdoor camera surveillance
  • Additional furnishings as robust obstacle elements
  • Hand-held fire extinguisher simulating various extinguishing agents such as water, foam, powder and CO2
  • Storage and connection box for gas cylinders
  • Connection option for additional Dräger fire training units outdoors

Professional instruction and user training

Comprehensive operator instruction can be supplemented by advanced firefighting and rescue training or a train-the-trainer course, conducted by professional and internationally experienced fire service trainers from the Dräger Academy.

The training content is individually adapted to the configuration of the fire training unit and places special emphasis on the correct use of the interchangeable and combinable training elements. Participants receive a training certificate – and a course certificate when completing the train-the-trainer programme.

Focus on sustainability

This system is built with sustainability in mind. This includes low-emission propane combustion at the fire points and a 'Smoke Only' option with artificial smoke, allowing for training without fire and with reduced CO2 emissions.

The durable materials are nearly fully recyclable and ensure a long lifespan. The system requires minimal maintenance, which can be carried out by trained users or Dräger Service technicians.
